Tutbury and Rolleston - The Castle and Dove walk on the East Staffs border

Event Details

Tutbury Castle was the medieval home of Mary Queen of Scots and the ruins stand above the very attractive large village with a charming mix of Georgian, Tudor and Regency architecture.

It's the hub of this walk, on the most Eastern edge of the GOC Western Midlands region. We follow the Dove, the river that flows from the Peak District to the Trent and separates Staffordshire and Derbyshire.

The mid-point of the walk is the pretty village of Rolleston-on-Dove.

It's a gentle walk, but there are some short inclines (totalling 100m) and 15 stiles.
