Arlingham Loop

Event Details

A flattish but very scenic walk around the Arlingham Loop of the river Severn returning via the derelict Stroudwater canal and the Gloucester-Sharpness ship canal. The meeting point for the walk is just west of the canal bridge at Frampton on Severn, but please note that there is unlikely to be parking available at this point (don't bother driving over the bridge!) and you will need to park around Frampton village green or the road on the east of the canal bridge and walk over the bridge to the start point. Please note though that the road up to the bridge is used by HGVs going to Shipton Mill even on a Sunday! Bring your own lunch as we do not pass anywhere suitable en-route. Depending on how quickly we complete the major part of the walk, there is the possibility of a tea shop or pub at or near the end.
