Ironbridge

Event Details

This is a 9 mile figure of eight walk covering both sides of the Ironbridge Gorge. We start on the banks of the River Severn with views of the famous Iron Bridge and the town that carries its name. We then climb through woodland to get views of the soon to be demolished Power Station before wandering along the banks of the river again. The second loop takes in many examples of the former cast iron industries products ranging from gravestones to chimneys and the bridge! We also pass several former industrial sites before climbing the gorge to get amazing views of the bridge and river in the valley below. Expect mud, bring a packed lunch and be prepared for some long steady climbs and steps up and down! Tea/coffee, pub and Pork Pie options at the end of the walk.
