Little Compton to the Rollright Stones.
A 7 mile ramble in the North Cotswold fringes, crossing the Warwickshire/Oxfordshire border, on the way to a leisurely lunch stop at the famous megalithic ring of the Rollright Stones, believed to have been erected in the Late Neolithic period around 3000BC. Much folklore and legend is attached to the stones, if you are quiet, you may be lucky enough to spot the fairies that live in caves under the outlying stones, but count the stones as many times as you wish, you will never get the same answer.
Walking on field paths, bridleways, and a little on quiet country lanes.
Far reaching view across the north Cotswolds countryside, on a clear day.
For those of you who want to discover your artistic bent, your walk leader, and renowned local artist, Andrew, will be giving you all the instruction you need to draw your very own sketch of the stones, or surrounding landscape. All materials supplied.
NB, Entry fee of £1 required for the Rollright Stones.
