This is a pleasant and varied walk of around 9 miles which will take us south from Denby Dale along part of the Barnsley Boundary Walk and returning via Deffer Wood.  We will be walking  through countryside rather than moorland and on tracks, through fields and woodland.  Weather permitting we should have good views across to the Pennines.

Equipment:  walking boots, waterproof jacket and trousers, warm clothing, hat and gloves. Trekking pole(s) recommended if normally used. Some paths may be muddy depending on the weather.
