Tredegar
An 8 mile, moderate, circular walk in and around the hills of Tredegar, a town rich in history, in relation to heavy industry, particularly of iron and coal, and the birthplace of Aneurin Bevan, the chief architect of the NHS. The route through Tredegar passes places of interest connected to the town's history and although the walk is 8 miles long, there is only one moderate climb onto Mynydd Llangynidr, and the second half of the walk is downhill and along tarmac lanes, roads, and a viaduct back to Tredegar. The walk will finish at the awarding winning cafe in Bedwellty Park and there are pubs nearby.
