Terry who led our midweek walk, had warned us. There was a lot of mud about after several days of heavy rain. And boy was he right!! The seven of us who joined Terry had taken heed of his warning and we all headed out on a truly muddy adventure wearing suitable footwear. Our photos reveal just a snap shot of some of the water hazards and mudscapes we traversed with care whilst Alan wearing his rather snappy wellington boots was able to tackle anything that came in his way with gay abandon. The weather was fortunately kind to us and the sun shone for a good part of our walk through woods, their trees bursting into leaf. This was a circular walk and as we crossed the final open field we could hear the hum of traffic from the nearby M4. This was a sign to us that we were on the home stretch and the Fox Inn awaited us. There we had a good meal and a very jovial landlord, who himself was a walker, and who made us very welcome.
Thanks Terry for leading our walk and thank you all who made the walk a very pleasant day out.
Cheers
Simon
