Good Friday at Capel Garmon

For the past many years the North Wales group has opted to walk on Good Friday. Snowdonia on last year's walk was in the grip of a deep, deep freeze but with bright blue skies and everywhere glistening bright and white. This year we were again lucky to have sunshine and clear skies but it was warm with the colours of spring bursting forth.

We assembled in the village of Betwys y Coed, with everyone managing to find a parking spot on a day we knew would see the place packed with visitors. We welcomed three women who had not been with us before and set off through the woods to the east of the village.

Our goal was a neolithic tomb near Capel Garmon. With the air so clear the views, particularly over towards the high mountains, were perfect and caused us all to stop and stare. It was a brilliant day and a great way to start the long Easter weekend. Huge thanks to Paul for showing us the way.

Where will we go for next year's Good Friday walk? Who knows..........but let's hope we get bright blue skies once again.
